Great picture of childhood memories.
My favorite was a red, heart shaped lollipop, which also made made lips red.
It is not made any longer.

Oooh, this is a hard one. I had quite a few. I think it was ice cream though. I'd love it when after school my mom would take my sister and I for ice cream at Baskin Robbins. I would love to get this inverted ice cream cone that was made to look like a clown.

My favourite sweet treat was KitKat. My favourite salty treat was Planter's Dry Roasted peanuts because we only ate them when we had guests that were VIP enough to sit in the living room. - G

Chocolate was always my favorite thing. When I was a kid, I seldom got a whole chocolate bar as my nickle recess money was only half as much as I needed. But when I did get a dime, I bought a Treasure chocolate bar which had 6 conjoined but individual "chocolates" -- a caramel, turkish delight, nougat and 3 others that I don't remember. I just remember how good they were!

Oh this is taking me back, Nora. I loved rainbow drops (you know, the choc discs with hundreds and thousands all over them) and also those midget gems. In fact I still love sweets but seldom give into the desire.

pretty pretty I think mine was candy corn:)

I liked the red and orange ones, but only because in the olden days, M & Ms weren't pink or blue or purple. Now I'd choose pink (especially the special ones for Breast Cancer research).

Many decades ago in Queens in New York City there was a store that actually sold penny candy. For 5 cents, I could get the candy dots on a paper, a Tootsie-roll and the sugary candy in a straw and maybe something else. At age six, I loved them all!

Oooh, I used to do that with red Smarties too.

I used to love Spangles, which they brought out again for a short time a few years back, but now you can't get them again.

I remember when Curly Wurly came out. My sister and I used to deliver newspapers after school for the local corner shop and when we got our wages on a Saturday we were allowed to choose some sort of sweets too. When they first came out they were only 6d (an old £ s d - sixpence).

I used M&M's in my nursery class years ago. My students loved to count and sort colors because they know they can eat them after the lesson. Sweet post!

Back then, it was Cracker-Jacks.

Now it's my sweetie, Susan. ;)

Either that or garlic, I can't decide...

I am not into sweets but I always loved it when my Mom would come home with fruits with her for us to eat.

You are cordially invited to view my Ruby Tuesday at Nostalgic Marveling.

I prefer the M & M as they don't melt easily in our hands compared to the smarties, especially in our hot climate.

Hello gorgeous!

Getting back into reading before writing again ;) I adore smarties, my treat was this swiss gold chocolate with hazlenuts that was actually wrapped in gold and came in a huge box shaped like a goldbar. That was our chocolate treat from abroad. Now to find out what is Ruby Tuesday? I adore rubies so they better be involved.

Hello and so happy to be here visiting you. Missed you so much. My favorite candy was that vanilla taffy that came in a bar.I cannot think of the name right now...anywho , you could put it in the icebox, take it out and smack it on the counter and it would be in pieces parts...LOL. So good.
I wish I had one of those cute pups below...so darling.
Thank you for always being here,

I always ate the red ones last. Don't know if it was the influence of the song or whether the candy stains in your hands look the best with red!

My favorite treat as a child was vanilla ice cream with Nestle Quik chocolate or strawberry powder sprinkled all over it! Or my Grandma's homemade cinnamon rolls. And Good and Plenty. Nowadays it's pistachio pudding and still Good and Plenty!
Happy REDnesday!

I used to love a candy that was sold at the movies...they don't sell it any more, I don't think..it was called Flicks....Here's the cute part--they came in tubes and each tube was a different color...One week, I'd want blue, the next week, red, etc...But, inside, the candy was chocolate and tasted like Hershey kisses...
Have a great day!!
Hugs

I'm embarrassed to say that I had a HUGE sweet tooth as a child (still have a profound chocolate addiction) and there are so many candies that I loved. I adored Flicks, Butter Brickles, Abba Zabba's, Sweet Tarts, Snickers, etc. - I kept the candy companies in business single handedly. ;)
I have especially sweet memories though of Look and Life candy bars - nougatty candy bars. My mother loved them. I can remember getting them frozen at the beach in the summer when we were leaving to go home. My mother would rap them on the dashboard and break up the bar into pieces for us to share and it tasted so yummy, mixed in with the scent of the sea and sand in my toes. Heavenly! Thanks for the memories.

Happy Rednesday,
Sally

Hi, Nora,
My favorite treat from childhood is a Mr. Goodbar and a Coke. I just remember always getting that from the vending machine while we were waiting for dance class. :)
