"80% OF SUCCESS IS TURNING UP!" (WOODY ALLEN)

DO YOU AGREE WITH WOODY OR IS HE BEING UNDULY SELF-DEPRECATING?
HOW MUCH, DO YOU BELIEVE, IS SUCCESS IN LIFE DUE TO BEING SIMPLY IN THE RIGHT PLACE AT THE RIGHT TIME? AND NOT, ERR, TALENT?

Do let me know! And Happy Labor Day Weekend to all my dear readers in the USA!
And Happy Six Word Saturday! Other great posts @ Show My Face. And see you again for Ruby Tuesday!
Mwah!
XOXO LOLA:)

I like Woody, and pretty much agree with him. It works for me.
Too, because Woody was married to one of our Houston girls for a while, André Previn's daughter, Soon-Yi Farrow.
Happy 6WS! :)

being anywhere in the right place at the right time is just that....how could anyone go wrong with that logic?

Adore Woody - he's too modest about his talent!

Woody's got logic on his side AND huge talent! A win-win situation!

Staying awake while you are showing up would be part of the 80%. (says the cynical teacher)

Yes - I do agree with him and for me the man can do no wrong. I love all his films especially Annie Hall and Manhattan

I'd say its more half and half. You got to be in the right place at the right time. But once you're there, you got to back it up with something.
Have a wonderful weekend daaahing.

I think he's right.. but if you don't have talent.. your stuck! But I do believe that if your going to be successful, you need to be ready and have the talent you "think" you possess to take advantage of every situation!

I heard this quote about 6 years ago and I now use it as an affirmation when I am stuck or unmotivated. I tell myself "start by showing up", and then everything begins to fall into place. To me, it is about being present, in the moment and ready to seize whatever life has to offer. - G

I think the above comment hits it on the head - turning up is so important and then taking advantage of opportunities...

He's right - to a point. Haven't we all been in the right place with people who haven't got a clue?

maybe not 80 !! but majorly it is :)

If you don't show up, I guess you don't have any chance. But I think there's also more to it than that. However, math was never my strong subject despite showing up regularly. ;)

Thanks for playing 6WS.

I do agree, because in turning up, you can become involved and achieve something- if you stay home in bed- you get nothing. good 6worder today.

Hi Nora and Lola,

Great six word Saturday post and thanks for sharing.
So true to be in the right place at the right time, but then you have to be able to back it up with what you do with it. Many thanks for coming to visit me.

Hope that you are having a lovely weekend
Hugs
