HAPPY MOTHER'S DAY TO ALL MY DEAR UK READERS!

Thank you so much for all your comments about yesterday’s conundrum about obesity/ mortality rates, my dear readers! And you were all spot on! Congratulations!

In his report, Professor Blair stated: "When we look at these mortality rates in fat people who are fit, we see that the harmful effect of fat just disappears. If we look at individuals who are obese and just moderately fit – we're not talking about marathon runners here – their death rate during the next decade is half that of the normal weight people who are unfit. So it's a huge effect."

So, my dear readers, it’s seems to be a question not of how much you eat, but of FITNESS! And, one day – probably about a hundred years from now – this fat-but-fit question will be answered without the shadow of a doubt! In the meantime, is there anything that all the experts agree on? Oh yes: however much your body weighs, you'll live longer if you move it around a bit!
Well, I’m off to enjoy some patisserie with my dear mother - and then, err, go for a long run, a very long run...

And Happy Mother’s Day to all my dear UK readers!
Enjoy!

Mwah!

XOXO LOLA:)

Love your photo here!! I am a big advocate of the just 'move a bit more' camp!! I know so many of us do not move enough and all it takes is a bit of movement and a bit less food (we all know what is bad for us when we say, geez, I know I should not be eating this...but we do anyway) that is not fueling our engine!!
Enjoy your pasty treats with Mummy, oh and of course the long run afterwards!!

Exactly Right O!

Moderation is key, and so is scheduling a fitness routine.

I am a runner, too. There is nothing like the feeling of a good run. I feel like I am floating in air.

Hope you had a great weekend.

I could not comment yesterday but observed with interest.

Isn't it surprising yet so obvious: The human body needs movement, sedentary forms just waste the potential within. Thank God for good science :)

Peace, x.

P.S. please fwd me the link to the person you said wrote about Renee?

There is no doubt in my mind that my evening (brisk) walk with the girls makes me feel better. Even if I have gone out in a bit of a mood, and despite the wintry weather (which today is glorious). I come back feeling uplifted and quite perky.

I am overweight but like to think I am fit, judging from how much quicker I seem to walk up the nearby hill when compared to slimmer neighbours.
