2009 OSCARS: WERE THESE REALLY THE WORST DRESSED?

Sliding down from my soap box in true Alice in Wonderland style after yesterday’s rant, I offer you those stars generally considered to be the worst-dressed at the 2009 Oscars: Beyonce Knowles, Sophia Loren and Miley Cyrus (above).

Do you agree? Or were there others even worse dressed? And what are your thoughts about the 2010 Oscars?

Incidentally, although they have it much, much easier (sartorially speaking!), do men get it wrong too? These obviously didn’t...

Do let me know what you think!

Mwah!
XOXO LOLA:)

In my opinion, all the women try TOO hard. Especially those above - keep it simple but smart is the answer!

Agree with Ken above- the women should avoid all those frills & ruffles otherwise they end up looking like wedding cakes or mermaids! Keep it simple and chic is the message!

Frills & ruffles belong only on young girls, very young girls! More classic styles would far better suit all the women above Lola!

I loved Beyonce's dress but the other two were not my cuppa tea at all. Oh imagine having all those dresses and jewels at one's disposal though - but I'd need a body transplant first.

I have to say, that lately when it comes to fashion, I have not been that impressed. Beyonce looks ridiculous--its hard to believe that she has her own fashion line. Sophia Loren needs a stylist. She is such an impressive woman, but she just chose the wrong dress. She would have looked better in something more tailored and darker I think--that colour is too close to her skin colour. Miley looks like a little girl playing dress up.
Where are the uber gowns? You know, the beautiful Dior gowns that I love so much. I also adore the "Old Hollywood" look to bits. This is all so boring.
Need to get my own Fashion Police show.

Sophia Loren is stunning--how old is she??? My goodness...I like the silver petaled dress...and I enjoyed the first.

The guyz--well, it isn't fair, but they all look great in black. But probably just about anything. (grin)

Happy PFF!

There have been far worse examples than those shown above, but they are all a bit over done!

Without seeing the rest, it's hard to say that those are the worst. Not styles that appeal to me particularly but for all I know the others could be even worse! :)

I can honestly say that no, those men soooo got it right. The women, not so much. In these photos I mean. In general, yes, men do have it easier, and yes they can get it quite wrong, as in blagh gag cough cough. Though women do have a bigger chance of getting it wrong, and boy do they ever, left and right, up and down; but then, look at what we women are offered so much of the time.
