Ooh, I love it when you have a new post. So much fun here and movies, oh my goodness, my favorite of all.

Okay, I TOTALLY disagree with the critics. I have a post titled Favorite Movies back in August where I list just 12 of my favorites. The list would be eternal. But from here I would definitely choose Gone with the Wind, Room with a View, When Harry Met Sally, and maybe Godfather. Casablanca...?...not too big on Bogart but for a classic, maybe.

Fun! Thanks as always. Now I have to watch a movie. ;)

Some Like It Hot - my favourite comedy. And I love Bogart -you can't top Casablanca, but he and Bacall were so good together. I love to watch To Have and Have Not for him visibly falling for her, and for her nerves - you can see the stiff angle of her neck to disguise her shaking. And the Big Sleep, impenetrable plot but it doesn't matter.

How about The Shawshank Redemption? And if you asked my son, he'd say The Graduate. I love Audrey Hepburn, and would say Breakfast at Tiffany's if it weren't for that awful comic Oriental character of Mickey Rooney, so will go for the elegant wit of My Fair Lady.

I'm afraid I could go on and on.

Hi,

My 2 favs are Dr Zhivago and La Cage aux Folles (a French-Italian movie made in 1978). In 1996 they made an American version called The Birdcage. If you ever get your hands on the French version you will die laughing. Following you from Alphabe-Thursday!

LOL! I have never seen any of the critics movies! I guess I am out of touch! I don't know what I would say are the top movies -- but me and the critics don't agree. Visiting from AT. Joni

Oh no! PANIC. I know that I will choose and then immediately change my mind! But here goes...

Off the top of my head, my top 10 choices would be Ghandi, Cry Freedom, The Fugitive, Notting Hill, Educating Rita, The Thirty Nine Steps, The (original) Italian Job, The Hunt for Red October, Captain Corelli's Mandolin and The Full Monty.

And now I know that the second I click 'Publish your comment', I'm going to think "Oh no! I forgot about..."

Very interesting picks from the UK Critics. I'm still a Gone With The Wind Fan and will watch Dr. Zhivago again and again. Altho, I really like Diane Keaton, I didn't much care for Annie Hall. Neat post on Film as the Letter F.

Okay, I suck. I've never watched ANY of the 18 movies you listed. I've heard about them and have heard so many pop culture references to them but have never actually SEEN them. I guess I need to get my butt into shape and go watch a bunch of these :)

O.k.--Here are a few of mine:
Out of Africa
The Razor's Edge
The Way We Were
To Kill A Mockingbird
Sophie's Choice
Lawrence of Arabia
Mystic River
The Hunt for Red October

I could sit here all night, but these are some of my very best choices.

Hibiscus Town
Zentropa
The Elephant Man
Until the End of the World
The Tenth Man

I have too many favorites to pick. Little Miss Sunshine and Oh Brother Where Art Thou come to mind and the fairly recent adaption of The Importance of Being Earnest was great.

My 16 yr old son watches Space Odyssey daily, but it makes me want to join a nunnery just to get a little excitement!

This was a really interesting link to Alphabe-Thursday.

I was expecting fashion and got culture! A little surprise!

Thanks for linking.

Thank you very much for leaving your thoughts :D

To your question: Halloween is celebrated here in Malaysia(not vastly), but they made it like a party and dress up thing.

If I were in America, I would love to do some Trick-O-Treating :>

Happy Halloween Nora and Lola!!
