ELTON JOHN PERFORMS!

Elton John is often in the press –whether for his concerts, dress or outrageous parties (below)! Recently he commented that X Factor contestants are less likely to succeed in the long term if they haven’t first served an ‘apprenticeship’ in pubs and clubs. He himself studied classical music and played in pubs before achieving fame. WHO IS (OR WAS) YOUR FAVOURITE PERFORMER?

Do tell me! And Happy Ruby Tuesday and Rednesday!
And do visit other posts! (Links at Work of the Poet & Sue Loves Cherries.)
Enjoy!
XOXO LOLA:)

PS See you again for Alphabe-Thursday!

Ahh, I"ve always loved his crazy outfits, though I'm not really a fan of his music. I have to agree to some extent with his comments regarding X-Factor though. Most of the contestants are performers, as opposed to real musicians.

Note to self: must buy a Marie Antoinette wig of giaganic proportions. I'll really stand out when I'm food shopping at Tesco!

Great take for red today. He is coming to our town next year. I loved seeing Billy Joel and have seen him 3 times.

I would have to say Elton would be one of my favourites for sure. The top two pics I believe were from the Muppet Show, and he was playing Crocodile Rock. The other was his birthday. but I may be wrong on both accounts.

I have seen Elton John years ago. The costumes are colorful and a little outrageous.

Elton has it right - a real trouper has paid dues in clubs or on the circuit. He's one of my all-time favorites.

That's all part of his performing persona...the outfits!!! I like him a lot...but, my favorite performer of 'that era' was Rod Stewart.

I ♥ Elton John but I also ♥ lots of performers. I'm a music lovin' girl :O) If I HAD to pick, I could probably narrow it down to Elvis Presley, Janis Joplin & Freddy Mercury (from Queen). :)

No question he is a showman and great entertainer. I loved that song he did for Princess Diane. I have the CD on it.
