THE MEDIUM IS THE MESSAGE...

SAY IT WITH BUMPER STICKERS!

The first bumper sticker I ever saw many, many years ago, “Slow down for Horses”, really grated. Not, you understand for the message it conveyed - eminently sensible in the narrow country lanes in the heart of the beautiful English countryside. No, this was attached to the rear of a swish, highly-polished Range Rover – outside Chanel in London´s Old Bond Street – out of which two WAGs in 6 inch heels tottered! Probably regarded it as the latest must-have accessory to go with their miniature chihuahas.

WHICH STICKERS HAVE YOU FOUND MOST REPULSIVE/ AMUSING? AND DO YOU HAVE ANY ON YOUR CAR?

A Happy Ruby Tuesday to everyone in Australia, New Zealand and the Far East where it’s already Tuesday!! And do visit other Ruby Tuesday posts! (Links at Work of the Poet.)
Enjoy and see you again for Alphabe-Thursday!

XOXO LOLA:)

"Hang Up, and drive", there should be a law to this as I have seen many drivers taking on the phone while driving, dangerous!

TIMEliness for RT, have a nice week ahead!

Love message cars like that, feel right at home in Austin (TX).

For some reason "I'm ahead of you" makes me see red. Don't see it so much these days, though.
I don't have any on my car since I'm sure to change my allegiance - or my funny bone - as soon as it's stuck there for good.

Wow, that's a ton of messages on one bumper, lol! There is one that really always gets to me....it's the "Coexist" bumper sticker...with all the religious signs....I think that's what it says. The message that no matter what religion or beliefs....or to me..no matter how different we all are, we can all coexist in a peaceful world. :))

Great post Lola!

You don't really see too many bumper stickers in the UK as compared to America. I've seen some good ones, but for the life of me, none come to mind at the moment.

We only have a few, mostly on windows for the children's college, the University of hartford. Also red! This car has far too many on his bumper, in my opinion, he has far too many opinions on his car!

Hi Nora and Lola,

The more I see of people, the more I love my dog. I think that one was awfully anti-social.
Yes, the baby on board annoys me.
everyone is precious, no matter if you are an old person or baby, so we need to all drive with care.
I would never put a bumper sticker on my car.

I hope that you are having a lovely week.
Hugs
Carolyn

I like the karma/dogma one best.

One time, I was stopped at a light behind a pickup truck with a bumper sticker that said, "BAD DOG". There was no dog in the cab, just the driver, who wore mysterious shades and a cowboy hat...

The best one I ever read was 'Don't read this message or you might crash!' Maybe not funny after all!

This reminds me of days gone by....When Bumper stickers were the thing to make your car a personal canvas..or maybe it was just to find your car in the parking lot,LOL.

I'd like these people, we think alike!

but it's a bit too many messages

I have an animal friendly license plate as I do brake for bunnies and deer and I hope to not be plowed into

Nora, I'm not happy with the sticker "Israel out of Palestine" I'll say, Nora! Also don't like advertising your religious preferences on your car in a sticker either! Happy Ruby Tuesday, Nora and Lola! :)

I really enjoy bumper stickers, they say what you normally would not. Great shot.

We thought it was self evident since we don't live in the USA but just in case there is any doubt, the car with the California licence plate in the pic above is NOT ours, nor does its bumper stickers reflect any of our personal views!!

I hate that 'baby on board' one - like someone is going to drive more carefully because someone has their kid in the car. I toyed with the idea of getting the 'bichons on board' one but as I hate bumper stickers (and fridge magnets) it was a no-no.

Kisses to your beautiful little girl

This is so freaky as just yesterday I bought the "The Medium is the Message" album from the 60s! retitled as "The Medium is the Massage" of all things.

Not really a bumper sticker person, the only ones I approve of are "little person on board", which makes one immediately more careful. Then again they could mean dwarves.
