WANT TO AVOID AIRLINE STRIKES & ASH CLOUDS THIS SUMMER?

WANT TO AVOID AIRLINE STRIKES & ASH CLOUDS THIS SUMMER?
Answer: Travel light like American adventurer, Jonathan Trappe (above), recently crossing the English Channel to France in a chair tied to a dozen helium-filled balloons!

WHAT´S THE MOST ADVENTUROUS/EXHILARATING/NERVE-WRACKING THING YOU´VE EVER DONE?

For me, the most frightening was, at the age of seven, in a turbo prop to a distant tornado-bound island when the pilot announced: "We’ll soon be landing at the main airport. Or quite near it." Actually, "quite near" turned out to be an emergency landing several hundred miles away in another continent - Africa! The most exhilarating was my first helicopter flight (a long-held childhood dream). Pure nerve-wracking, white knuckle bliss!

A Happy Ruby Tuesday to everyone in Australia, New Zealand and the Far East where it’s already... Tuesday!! And do visit other Ruby Tuesday posts!(Links at http://workofthepoet.blogspot.com/)
Enjoy
Lola:)

The nerve wrACking experience I have had was when I ride that caterpillar ride in the carnival, I am not good with rides so I p@#$% my guts out lol..

Ruby Tuesday, have a nice week ahead.

Yes, i agree to Vernz and Chubskulit. It is just the same with the movie "UP". The difference was that was real while the latter is not.

Hi Nora ~~ Happy RT! I like your RT post with the pretty ballons. Guess he was a brave fellow.

A friend who worked at NASA with me wanted us to do that way back in the early 70's using light aluminum lawn chairs. He had researched and there was a U.S. federal license that could be gotten just by flying once in something like that.

We did not do it.

I am very afraid of heights, and sitting on a chair with balloons will never be my option. Still go for airplanes XD

Thank you for the comment.

Hi Nora Dear,
Balooning seems like so much fun, but I too am afraid of heights. Working in a redneck bar room had its moments,,but the scariest thing in my life is when I went to Honduras a few years ago... A peasant gorilla put a machine gun in my face. There are gorillas on every corner there. I went to the cemtary with my brother to visit my grand mothers grave.I had one of those dinosaur video cameras. The man did not know what it was.My brother was away in front of me.He steped right up and put it to my face...I looked around him and called to my brother...Jr. Jr.Of course he came running and my cousin did too and translated. What the hell you think you are doing.Anyway it got all straighten out.It was funny how I reacted ,scary after it was all over. He could have shot first then asked questions later...LOL
Thanks for stopping buy Hon.I know I have not bloged much.Things happen

I wouldn't have the courage to do it, but it looks like fun. And like others reminds me of the movie UP, which was delightful.

This reminds me that I almost went up in a hot air balloon, but unfortunately never found the time and then my gift card expired. Definitely have to catch up on that. I've had 4 emergency landings on large aircrafts due to engine failures, so that was definitely nerve wracking. For me, the biggest exhileration (and relaxation) comes from scuba diving.

I grew up in the air...both my parents were in the Air Force. I can NOT stand to fly...in anything!! The scariest ride I ever took was on the Goodyear Blimp..true story :) Happy RT Lola! *hugs*

The most adventurous thing I've done is drive to the snow alone and go up on a ski lift for the first time. Happy Rubby Tuesday <3

I used to live near a kind of inner-city trading estate, you know the type with shops in giant industrial units... outside one they liked to fly a huge gas balloon and I always longed to creep to the strings and see whether I could pull it down, or whether it was floaty enough to take me up with it.

The shop had obviously forseen berks like me would wanna do this, and ensured said balloon was under tight security at all times.

Boo!! Hiss!!

What a beautiful doggie Lola is... she's not some sort of Andalucian water dog, is she..?
