RED CARPET HITS & MISSES ...

Dear readers, this week ‘R’ IS FOR *R*ED CARPET HITS AND MISSES!
There have been memorable sartorial malfunctions/ hits and misses on numerous red carpets. Here are just a few that have been noted:
1. Bjork, Oscars 2001 ( in Marjan Pejoski, above) - words fail me!
2. Lizzy Garner, Oscars 1995 (designer in own Amex “costume, below) - flaunting her, er, 'assets'?
3. Celine Dion, Oscars 1999 (Dior) - donned that jacket in a bit of a hurry?4. Angelina Jolie, Baftas 2009 (Armani Privé) - hmmm!

5. Emma Stone, Golden Globes 2011 (Calvin Klein) - OK?
6. Helena Bonham-Carter, Golden Globes 2011 (Vivienne Westwood) - look at those shoes!

7. Kim Basinger, Oscars 1990 (unknown) - Cinderella?

8. Whoopi Goldberg, Oscars 1993 (ditto) - Wonder woman?
And from the past: 9. Elizabeth Taylor, Oscars 1961 (ditto)10. Audrey Hepburn Oscars 1954 (Givenchy) WHICH OF THESE OUTFITS WERE HITS/MISSES FOR YOU? ANY WORSE STILL?
Do check out other Alphabe-Thursday posts @
Jenny Matlock.
And, finally, thank you to all my dear readers who have visited or commented.
Enjoy,
XOXO LOLA:)

Hi Lola and Nora,

Great post and yes, you wonder what some of them were thinking... what was it with Celine and the backwards look! Emma Stones gown was lovely and as always Audrey Hepburn looked beautiful in Givenchy.

Hope you are enjoying the week

Hee Hee, Whoopie is the worse for sure! And I have to say Elisabeth Taylor the best!

It makes you wonder sometimes what they were thinking, or did they even own a mirror. The first one takes the cake. As if being dressed as a chicken or was she supposed to be a duck (?) wasn't enough she even had an egg.

I love Audrey Hepburn. She had such elegance.

With all the money they have you'd think some of them could dress a LOT better than they do!

Hi Lola,

Some "wild" dresses, but interesting to look at. Do they really think they look good? What is with the two different colored shoes? Cute post for this week, my friend.

I could live with the Emma Stone gown but glory did most of the rest look in the mirror before they walked outta the house???

You'd think their assistants would say, "what are ya thinkin'!!!" Heeehehehe!

Have yourself an awesomely blessed weekend my friend!!! :o)

The constant in class, elegance and style remains the red carpet. It never created a style faux pas - but chuckles at those you have captured...

What is with Celine Dion's hat - that's even worse than the backwards jacket! And that credit card dress, yikes...

The only one that isn't utterly horrible is Emma Stone's, and even that could benefit from a color that stood out from her skin tone a bit more.

I never thought I'd see a shot of Elizabeth Taylor not looking great but that gown is awful!

I think the most Ridiculous is a toss up between Bjork and Whoopi Goldberg though...
