The Alfa Giulia GTAm (above) has been voted by Alfa Romeo fans as the greatest car the Italian company has ever produced.
Based on the 1750 GT Veloce, the GTAm – which stands for Gran Turismo Alleggerita Maggiorata (a reference to the fact it was lightened and its 1,750cc engine enlarged) – won the European Touring Car Championship in 1970, confirming its place, along with that of the car's Dutch driver, Toine Hezemans, in history.
Forty years later, it has beaten the modern 8C Competizione in a poll that asked Alfisti (Alfa Romeo followers) to name their favourite car as part of the company's centenary celebrations.
WHICH IS YOUR OWN FAVOURITE CAR EVER? WAS IT YOUR VERY FIRST… ?
Happy Ruby Tuesday to everyone in Australia, New Zealand and the Far East where it’s already Tuesday!

What a car. Can I borrow the keys?
Thirty years ago we had a gorgeous candy apple red BMW, so I guess I was thinking of that when I picked my candy apple red Miata a while back - red is the best colour for a car! My first car was a VW beetle that was so old that the passenger door had to be tied shut and a piece of heavy cardboard placed over the hole in the floor. I loved it!
I like Audis and Volvos! Bt this one has a great look.
It has to be a Nissan Figaro for me - I love its retro styling
This is pretty fabulous. I guess I'd have to say my all-time favorite was an old, totally impractical and unreliable 57 MGA. It was low slung and shorted out in deep puddles, ubiquitous where I live. But it was a glorious turquoise and so sexy!
i love Alfas and Audis. and this one looks cool.
I like the soft lines of this car. Happy Tuesday :)

Awesome car! ALl I can think of is a beetle because my 9 year old is in love with VW bugs!!!!!!!!
mmm, Alfa, cool cars...
I;m not into cars...I'm content with what my husband now, a Kia Pregio. But this red one definitely lovely.
MY first love was a ...mini! Haha! Great post.
Oh, this takes me back...to a pale blue Triumph Herald. The love of my life..till it died on me on a motorway!
Love the style and classy retro styling of this Alfa Romeo!
VW Beetles and Moggy Minors!
Love all Alfa cars -so classy!
My parents had a Morris Minor -used to think it was wonderful! Hehe
This Alfa is gorgeous! Italian style is a racy ruby, fun to drive hard but not in stop-and-go traffic. It was meant be driven! Too bad that in the USA, these old Alfas were allergic to our winter road salt and rusted away. Perhaps such beauty was to last for us only a little bit of time - art can be like that...
I don't have a favorite car
I'm not much into them as anything beyond transport
except for the old cars which are like art
this one is pretty
Oh thankyou! I'm an Aussie in Australia and I didn't even know that it's Ruby Tuesday! My fave car would have to be Barbie's pink covertable! Too cute!!! :D My hubby would say a Holden Monaro - the classic ones. :D
Wow, Nice red car!
I dont drive. I used to when I lived in the states, but not in the UK. I don't actually miss it. I'm not really a car person. If i did have to pick a car, I'd want a Bently (with a driver). I like really big cars, not little sports cars.
*kisses* HH
I think I'd take an Audi!!! If I could afford one. LOLOLOL

Happy Ruby Tuesday to you Nora and Lola,
My first car was a mini and that was very special.
I love the Alfa that you have shown.
Happy week, dear friends.

A white Ford Sierra 1986 stationcar, witch me and my husband just few month ago had to hand over to dump ;-)
Great shot and text!
i like small cars so anything that can take me from point a to be in 5pm traffic is my favorite car... ha!
Nice capture and idea for Ruby Tuesday, love the colour and car :-)
First of all, Laura loves Lola! Great doggy-bloggy friends!
I don't really have a favorite car. Maybe I'm the odd one out...of humanity. Who knows.
Favorite car.. a BMW, silver convertible... would love to own one of those!!! With a sunroof too!!
What a cute car the one in the photo is. Because I am a sentimental soul I have to go with my first ever car - a beaten up old Honda Civic that had such a fast engine I regularly used to whizz off at the lights, leaving bigger and newer cars in my wake. Obviously they soon caught me up but there was still a brief burst of girlish pride at being so fast.
xx
Oh, that is such an adorable looking car! I don't like to drive so I don't have a favorite car but I do love the look of mini-coopers :)
