WORDLESS...

Public art ~

Art works displayed in public settings (here alongside the busy traffic, Skytrain, pedestrians, passing dogs etc of downtown Vancouver as part of that city’s recent Bienalle).
Or, dear readers, do you prefer seeing art works in quiet, enclosed museums without all the distractions ? Do let me know!
(Photo: Cabeza Vanilla, Cabeza Cordoba & Cabeza Chiapas by Mexican artist, Javier Marin.)

btw Been without the internet since Saturday and, strange to say, got a lot of writing and entertaining done and the Spanish subjunctive tackled!
What, dear readers, do you do when your computer’s down? (Or would do?!)

A Happy Ruby Tuesday to all my dear readers in Australia, New Zealand and the Far East where it’s already Tuesday!!
And do visit other terrific Ruby Tuesday posts! (Links at
Work of the Poet.)And thank you so much for all the comments, visits and new followers!
Enjoy!
XOXO LOLA:)
PS See you for Alphabe-Thursday this ... Thursday!

Well done on cracking on with the Spanish subjunctive. I have my own problems with the French one. I try and avoid using these fancy tenses if I can but sometimes nothing else will do.

I love street sculpture like this.

good morning, ladies! well, actually, i love art no matter its place - i can't say i've a choice of location - however, there is really really something quite special i think in art on the street/in public - and when without my computer, reading and writing and painting!

Art, be it outside or inside, is an expression of the artist. We can be enthused or not, but in any location we try to understand the effect it has on us. Nice!

Yes, I like art in public. Its nice to see stuff even if you don't have the opportunity to go to a museum.
What do I do when I dont have internet access? I go nuts!

I like art wherever I find it, usually. It's crazy to keep it all in museums. Take some of it to the people. ;-) But I like museums too.

Interesting installation, I wonder what they're made of. It's the same for me, outside art or museums, I'll inspect them :)

Happy Ruby Tuesday. Love your image. I like museums and l also like seeing sculture outside too. Henry Moore's large scutures should be outside not in a museum! for instance.

Happy Ruby Tuesday!
Love seeing Artwork outside, as well as in museums and galleries.
Sorry to hear that your computer was down... I feel so frustrated when it is down. Have to go and do something else, which sometimes works out well.

Have a happy week

I love both public and gallery art. The artist usually knows when a particular setting is required so seeing art in different environments is always a refreshing perspective.

And I actually quite enjoyed it when my computer was down... you get so much more done and stop procrastinating ;-) It's crazy how dependent we are on the internet...

I seldom see art work displayed in public places. it feels good to see this once in a while.

I think both have their place - museums are far better for quiet contemplation but street art makes art accessible to the masses and brings it into everyday life.

Nice post, it made me think.
