THE NAME IS KELLY. GRACE KELLY! ~ BUT AM I REALLY THE NEW STYLE ICON (WITH A LITTLE HELP FROM MAD MEN) FOR 2010?

Dear readers, welcome to Alphabe-Thursday where ‘K’ is for Grace Kelly - is she really the hottest new style icon for 2010? What do you think? Will YOU be wearing her full-skirted dresses, twinsets and pearls this year?

This season, a number of designers, from Prada to the award-winning Erdem (who designs for First Ladies Carla Bruni, Michelle Obama and Sarah Brown) have shown collections that reference her flirty femininity and polished glamour. And while Mad Men’s sensational blonde, Betty Draper, has caught the public’s attention for her Kelly-esque look of twinsets and pearls, London’s V&A Museum will be hosting the exhibition "Grace Kelly: Style Icon".
Here are some advance scenes from her life and movie career. But will she really be this new style icon? Do let me know what you think, dear readers!

Happy Alphabe-Thursday and do check out other great
posts!

Enjoy!
XOXO LOLA:)

I too think so! Wait, not thinking about wearing the skirt, but that she seems to be the hottest new style icon for 2010 :)

Sorry for the delay in coming to your blog.

I hope you have a good day. I hope I too, not wearing the skirt :) but a cargo pant.

She might have been a beauty but didn't she end up as a drunk?

(oh my, French Fancy, you are so harsh!)

She was a very beautiful woman and a fine actress, I loved her in Rear Window.

Elegance like that is gone forever, I fear. I personally favor flannel shirts and cowboy boots, but I love the look of the ladies on Mad Men...

My horses would think that I had lost my mind if I showed up to feed them in heels!

Well, living in AZ there is no way I would ever wear a twin set without dying of heatstroke.

That being said...she is such an elegant and lovely lady, isn't she?

I had trouble concentrating on this post because of your sweet puppy laughing at me in the corner!

A wonderful stop on the Alphabe-Thursday journey through the letter "K"!

A+

Grace Kelly has always been one of my favorite actresses and, though I celebrated my 65th birthday in October with a Mediterranean cruise and have been to Monaco several times, I ALWAYS have to visit the palace and the catherdral where she is laid to rest.

She truly was a princess in every sense of the word.

I think the only part of this look that I'll be able to pull off is the pearls...they were my wedding gift from The Engineer and I do wear them a lot. Please don't tell me I shouldn't wear them with t-shirts and jeans...because that IS my wardrobe.

I adored her style, but a twinset ... in the summer .... not likely!

Quite possibly! Her look, her poise, her grace, were classic; and we always return to our classics.

She's so gorgeous! No pearls from me =)

Grace Kelly had a unique glamour and elegance. Classical beauty. I think people can try to copy, but there is only one original. Wish I could go to the V&A exhibit.

Love Grace Kelly but since I don't have the body to look like her guess I won't be wearing her new/old style.

Grace Kelly was beautiful and stylish and one of a kind! I would love to dress like her if I could. I would love the styles to reflect her "grace".

And I'd die if I had to wear a sweater in Texas in the winter! Very few sweater days where I am. I think Grace Kelly would have looked beautiful in anything!
