Bob Carlos Clarke took this shot of Mick Jagger
in 1971 as a student photographer; it was at the
famous Stones concert at The Round House. Bob's
camera was confiscated by security and the film
removed however a roll slipped through the net
and contained this image.

The Rolling Stones, 1969. These photographs
were taken during Rolling Stones rehearsals at
Apple Studios before their infamous Hyde Park
concert in 1969. It was just after Brian Jones had
died and Mick Taylor had joined. It was Willie
Christie's first professional job (a commission for
Melody Maker), and he remembers how the
Rolling Stones didn't want him to be there, and
wouldn't allow him to use flash. Mick Taylor kept
turning his back for the pictures. Only three
pictures were ever published in Melody Maker

Oh I just saw Brad in bed, oh my Lord! Ooo and the puppy
I have dry eyes which causes me to blink a little more than the average person (though its not noticeable), but because of this I'm often photographed with closed eyes.
I really like the photo of Marco Pierre White... and the cake. Ah... Laduree :D
this is sooo fabulous! love all the pics specially those of James Dean & MickJagger. Even the pic of
Twiggy-you could never call her beautiful even then- is a fantastic image!
wonderful!wonderful!wonderful!
Okay, we have to PICK? But they're all so groovy! Marco Pierre White is hot hot hot hot hot hot hot hot hot hot hot an dcan cook me up any time. But if I had to pick a fave it would deffinitely be David Bowie and that dog. That is SOME shot! I loved the photo choices. I love vintage and I love black n white photography!
I am in love with that first shot of Dean and Taylor!
twiggy has such presence and i love the pic of bowie - his leg looks super long and cool!
can't wait for tomorrow's advice :D
What artistic photographs and the cake is ever so delicious.
Marco Pierre White kind of looks like a rock star there. And is that Kiefer? A very punk rock Jack Bauer! This looks like a great exhibit.
I'm surprised the palace guard allowed the photo of Her Majesty with eyes closed to be published. As for the rest of the photos - fantastic! Wonderful post!

Didn't Bowie look marvellous then.
I don't remember the Stones playing the Roundhouse - I grew up near there and am surprised I have no recollection of this at all
Oh what a fabulous post and how neat would that be to go and see this exhibition. I would so love to go.
I am surprised to see her Majesty with eyes shut.
Marco Pierre White is fabulous and have enjoyed watching his Hells Kitchen shows.
Happy weekend

Hello my darlings, nice post as always. I love the photos and the cake. Lilibeth looks tired and perhaps sleeping in her photo, I tell you it’s not easy being a queen, I know and I am only a duchess!!! I keep my eyes wide open during a photo taking session but when the photos develop my eyes look like two red berries or they are completely closed. There must be something in the royal blood or should I say eyes!! Darling have yourself a fabulous weekend!!

Glam and gritty, raw and wonderful, these shots are fantastic! The one of James and Lizzy is definitely my favourite.
Being about as far away from a celebrity as humanly possible, I must say I've never been snapped anywhere by a stranger. I can imagine though that you must be dogged by the pup-arazzi all the time, Lola darling! ;D
Oodles of hugs & joyful weekend wishes to you both, sweet dear!

So cool, especially HRM!
Totally cool...thanks for sharing these!! It's amazing that you were not allowed to bring cameras into concerts, now everyone does it!! I love the pic of Elizabeth Taylor and James Dean, such a private moment!!
Have a fantastic weekend!!
