THE COLOUR RED ...

What is it about the colour red in movies? It’s everywhere. Red for blood, or a wound …

Like the red plastic mac worn by a dead little girl in the opening scene of director Nicolas Roeg's 1973 movie classic of the English supernatural, Don’t Look Now (above). Based on the short story by Daphne Du Maurier, this mac is what she’s wearing when she drowns in the pond of her parents' English country home. Her art historian father, John, later takes his grieving wife Laura away for a healing trip to Venice (of all the ironic waterlogged places), having accepted a commission to restore a church building.

Red also figures in the 2006 Omen remake, Schindler’s List, Rebel without a Cause, Red Shoes, Flatliners, Red Riding Hood and soon in Submarine (with Yasmin Paige, below)
DO YOU LIKE WEARING RED? IF SO, WHAT?
Do tell me! And Happy Ruby Tuesday / Rednesday!

Red's a great colour if you're blonde or brunette -not so great if you're a red head!

Love red - for accessories only though! :-D

Red is attention getting - where the background is monochromatic, such as B&W, the red makes us look, and pay attention. I like it, but not so much as wearing it, but perhaps on an inanimate object like the vehicle I might drive. We take notice of any ruby, and check things out further

I only like red because of RT ;)
Wearing red makes me feel as if it's too hot out
and it looks terrible on me

I never thought of the red that's used in film (nor in the background of one's beautiful blog). Personally, I like to wear red lipstick. ;)

Hi Nora and Lola,

Red is such a lovely colour especially for winter.
I use to have a red jacket and now I only have accessories and a pair of sandals.

Happy week
Hugs
Carolyn

my dear ladies - it's been far too long since my last visit here and i do hope you'll accept my deepest apologies - it's been a time of other life getting in the way of things i'd rather be doing, like dropping by your fun place - in any event, yes, there IS something to be said about red, isn't there! and i've said a few of those myself over at gypsywomanworld - so drop by there when you are so inclined and let me know what you think of my own reds! ;)

hoping all is well in your world! have a glorious remainder of the evening, ladies!

Red is not a super good color for me, so I wear it rarely.

I tend to buy red for party dresses, shoes and purses!

Red doesn't seem to look so good with my coloring, so I rarely wear it.
I think I read that short story by Daphne du Maurier, but I had no idea that there was a movie adaptation of it. I'll have to see if I can find it!
Happy REDnesday,
Carol

I love to wear red with white or red with navy blue. Buy my drop dead favorites are my red Enzo flats...I am now on my third pair. Have to buy them on EBay because I do not think they make that loafer style anymore. Loved your post.

I love red! My winter coats have been red for years.

Would the bib necklaces work on petite people?
