WHO/ WHAT WOULD YOU SAVE FIRST FROM A BURNING HOUSE?

Britain is famous for its love of pets but it seems that times are changing after a survey revealed that 60 per cent of respondents would grab their laptops, mobile phones, iPods and even games consoles if their house was burning down before saving the family dog.

The public’s callous streak was attributed to the vital nature that gadgets play in everyday, modern lives but the results are nonetheless startling. Of 1,219 people surveyed only 14 per cent said that they would leap to the rescue of their dog, cat or canary in the case of a fire.

Hi Sweetie,
I would most certainly grab any living creature...be it child or animal. Than next a husban, although God knows, he should be saving me...LOL Then pictures.

For sure everybody in the family. Material things we can buy it again but not with life of our loved ones. Happy Monday!

I dont have any pets or children, so I'd say Mr P. There are no material things that are worth risking your life for.

Hi Nora and Lola,

For sure I would put the life of a pet before any computer or gadget.
You can always replace them but a pet is a beautiful living thing.
Sad reading the statistics of only 14 per cent would rescue their animals first.

Have a happy week

Family and pets first.
Eight years ago when there was a forest fire I told my then-sixteen-year old daughter to grab what she could and she ran downstairs with her bible, her purse and her signed copy of her auntie's first novel - I loved it!

Positively...the very first would be Chloe and LadyBug!!!

that is sad:( material things can be replaced, not the life of someone, even a pet, who brought us little joys.

My little Chloe dog and Bully Boy (cat) would be the first to get thrown out of the burning house...love my animals too much to let anything happen to them!!!

Family first, then the parakeet, family pictures, my purse, and then my computer and external hard drive(lots of pics on both). And then if there's a moment to spare, my grandparents' anniversary clock!
Happy REDnesday,
Carol

Rod and I would of course scoop up our two dog children! Anyone else here would have to fend for themselves!

Family, pets(if we had one) and photos/home videos...(boy, we have so many photos and home videos, that it would be pretty tough to haul them all out!) But, it is so special that we do have those, especially of the ones that we have of our loved ones that have passed away....we love to hear their voices...

Blessings & Aloha!

My husband, Ruby and Rusty. Let the rest burn. I know what is important. BTW, thank you for your well wishes for Rusty's 4 year Gotcha day and visiting our very neglected blog.

I would say family. And our pets are part of our family, too. Let's all escape together...

Who would not want to save such friendly and smiling canines in their ruby collars??
