RED IS FOR...

Dear readers, I am participating in Alphabe-Thursday where ‘Red’ is for ooh, so many different things! But let’s start with Pillar boxes and phone boxes. And then, what about these:

Trees (acer and peony, respectively):
Roses:

Summer fruits:
Canine fashions
(Last week I featured haute couture and the previous week chain store fashion trends. So. In the interests of even-handedness, here are fashion trends especially for dogs. Though not, you understand, for Lola or any of her canine chums!) Red cape
familiar in bull rings here in Andalucia (but threatened with extinction in Cataluña which has today banned bull fights!)
And, last but not least:

The De Clerambault Code,
my psychological, suspense novel. All profits to charity (see sidebar).
For amazing reviews and further details, click HERE
ALTHOUGH I LIKE THE COLOUR RED, I’VE NEVER BEEN ABLE TO “WEAR” IT SUCCESSFULLY ! IS THERE A COLOUR THAT DOESN’T SUIT YOU TOO?
Do tell me! Have a great Alphabe-Thursday! And check out other Alphabe-Thursday posts @ Jenny Matlock´s great site!

See you again for Six Word Saturday and my "brush" with Michelle Obama!
XOXO LOLA:)

Love the pillarbox & phone booth!

And no, I could always wear red - yellow is one I can't though because of my hair color!

Hi Nora and Lola,

I love all your pretty red photos, all so bright, thank you for sharing a great post.
The English phone and pillar boxes always look great, in fact in NZ many years ago we had the same. Such a shame they got rid of them.

Happy rest of the week
Hugs
Carolyn

I remember seeing the telephone box and mailbox when I was in England. They look so cherry and welcoming.

I'm not crazy about wearing yellow or any other color with a yellow-ish tint like a yellow-ish green.

Nothing beats a red rose for me, but red dog sweaters is a close second!Unfortuneatley my dogs are too big for me to afford to dress them!

Lovely selection of RED here! My favs are the telephone & post boxes!

I'll have a scoop of the trifle please!
I heard about the bull-fighting ban yesterday. Do you think it will spread?
Rosie wants you to know that she wouldn't be caught dead in any of those outfits - although she has a boiled wool number that I've been known to make her wear in the worst weather........as long as no one is around to see her shame.

You found so many fun red things, Nora! I love the trifle..yum..and the puppy fashions are so cute!

I'm fair so pastels don't usually look good on me. I love to wear red!

I never thought I could wear yellow, but I've decided over the past few years that I am wearing it anyway! I'm happy with red clothing, but I've never been comfortable wearing red lipstick...go figure!

I had heard that about the banning of bull fights on the news early this morning when I was nursing! Though I understand, I hate for Spain to lose this part of their culture!

Lovely reds! Thanks for your comments - yes I saw Red Stewart(!) the post was so very nearly about just that!! My back will be fine in a few days - it's an old war wound!!

What BEAUTIFUL pictures! And I LOVE Alleluia! :)

Lovely reds! I especially like those strawberries :) .
Brown ... brown is not my color. Too bad, because I do like it. I "can" wear red, though I seldom do ... except for my favorite red & black dress!
Fun post, see you next week :)
Blessings,
Catherine :)

I tend to avoid wearing pink to be honest. Love all those red flowers!

Delighted another Spanish town has seen sense and banned bullfights. Also delighted that -like me - you would never dress a bichon up in silly clothes. Dogs as beautiful as bichons need no adornment and certainly nothing to keep them warm but cuddles and kisses.

Will not be around for a little while again now - the Big Move will be taking place in a week or so and turbulence is currently the state of play.

Kisses to the lovely one and keep one for yourself

Love the first pic especially...My daughter wants one of those British phone booth's in our yard as a conversation piece...I would probably plant clematis around it :)

Amazing collection of gorgeous red photographs. I wonder how you could manage so many reds in one post. Great work. I am gonna follow you.

Great red post. Surely those are not all your dogs! If so, you have lots of love. I am intrigued by the fact that your book proceeds go to charity! I like your blog and appreciate that you left a comment on mine. Red is not great on me unless it is a blue red.

Kat said...

Those poor dogs, they do NOT look happy LOL. I love that red phone booth, and the acer tree is magnificent. Great choices for red. The one color I cannot wear is yellow, which stinks because it's one of my favorites! Kat

Love the booth, reminds me of London. Great red post! Thank you for your visit :)

First of all...that is awesome to see learn about your book! Thanks for sharing that...will need to check it out.

And what great red images here! I love the phone booths and pillar boxes. And the peony is gorgeous!!! I can wear red, but the reds with "bluish" tones are better than the reds with "yellowish tones" on me.

Blessings & Aloha!
(hubby and son are sleeping, so trying to finally get some blog reading done, visit and reply to comments left on my past two posts!) Thank you so much for stopping by...please come back any time. And Nora, how do you add your link into your comments?

Hi Mrs Matlock!

This is a message from Lola's P.A.! Lola was joking in the comment she left on your *Red* post. She knows, of course, the next colour as well as any canine worth its, er, salt!

What a wonderful post!

I'm kinda/sorta glad you didn't run into Michelle. You would have intimidated the stuffing out of her...your style, your humor, your intelligence, your wit...she would have gotten all insecure and then her husband would have gotten distracted and...

OK.

Never mind.

I think you get my drift here.

Thank you for linking this amazing RED post to Alphabe-Thursdays Summer School.

I adore visiting here. You are so unique and fun!
