*Y*OU HITTING THE BOTTLE TOO?

Dear readers, I am participating in Alphabe-Thursday where ‘Y’ IS FOR *Y*ES - RED IS THE NEW BLACK! …OR IS IT? (OK, maybe not such a good example of 'Y' -but can you come up with a better one?!)
Anyway, where was I? Oh yes, it seems as if red is the new black – as it were! Just look at all these red-heads:
1. Linda Evangelista (above)
2. Blake Lively – Chanel ambassador (below) 3. Amy Adams
4. Julianne Moore 5. Florence Welsh 6. Cheryl Cole

7. Christine Hendricks

8. Lily Cole 9. Karen Elson
10. Drew Barrymore EVER BEEN TEMPTED TO BE A RED HEAD? (OR UNDERGO ANY OTHER IMAGE CHANGE/MAKEOVER YOU'D LIKE TO SHARE WITH ZILLIONS OF MY READERS!)
Do tell me! And do check out other Alphabe-Thursday/Rednesday posts @ Jenny Matlock & Sue Loves Cherries!
And, finally, thank you to all my dear readers who visited or commented.
Have a great weekend!
Enjoy!
XOXO LOLA:)

I went RED 11 years ago and don't think I'll ever go back to blonde. The great thing is, I look more like a natural redhead than I did as a blonde. My own mother says if she didn't know better... ha! I love being a redhead.

I hope you're doing well. Happy Fall!!!
Cheers,
Holly

Hi Lola! I think red is the only hair color I haven't been, except for some burgundy highlights years ago. xo

I once put a temporary dark brown on my hair for a 60's party our Sunday school class had when we lived in Memphis. I looked like an aging hooker! Never again!

I've been every color of the rainbow..pretty much. My daughter is a stylist and has been practicing on me for years!! I have been red, but it's not one of my faves...not that I don't like it, just it seems to look better lighter!
Hugs to you both!!

Oh yeah, I have had the shade like Drew has pictured, although I don't like her so much as a red haired girl....guess her blonde locks from E.T. have stuck with me...but most of the reds you have pictured here look real...seeing fake redheads is not a pretty sight, to me!..and it's a tough shade to pull off!

OK, I admit it -- at one time (not anymore) I had a bit of red in my hair that was not truly my own! It was fun though, and brightened up my normal light olive complexion!

Thanks for stopping by for AlphabeThursday!

gosh, I only recognized a few of these ladies! And I don't think it's because they changed to color of their hair... {:-Deb

Red had always been my favorite color (I even have a red kitchen) but not for my hair !

Well, I feel like I'm in good company. And no I have never tinkered with my red locks. Although I can't say I won't invest in some grey camouflage when the time comes.

I adore red hair, and wish that I could pull it off, but it just doesn't look right on me! I thought that since my Mom is a redhead, I would look good too, but I was very wrong. That was one long month until I was able to color my hair again!
Happy REDnesday,
Carol

Gotta say Drew looks great as a redhead!

It's been a few years since I've colored my hair, so it's long past due. I doubt it will be red, although there are probably a few reddish shades that would be okay.

Just before my youngest daughter was born I put a dark blonde color on my hair, and for some reason, it turned bright red. When my daughter was born, she had bright red hair. Everyone commented how she had red hair just like her mother, LOL!

I am a red head. I can remember when I was one of two red heads in our school. Me and my sister. And we were considered freaks. I always hated my hair. Then came the day when everyone started drooling over my hair color and wanted to know where I had it dyed. And they died when they found out it was natural.
I guess God knew what he was doing when he created redheads. Hee hee! He taught me patience too! ~Ames
P.S. Judie you crack me up! My brother-in-law's father-in-law is aproaching 90 yrs old and he always dyes his hair jet black. Really? Are you kidding me? You can't tell that your son and son-in-law are Qtips and you have jet black hair?? LOL!

Hi Lola and Nora,

Great post and I enjoyed seeing all the red haired beauties.
One time after my daughter was born, wanted to go a little darker and to my horror it actually went a purple colour, that was really upsetting and did not go out for a week until I was able to have it redone.

Hope that you are having a lovely weekend
Hugs
Carolyn

I have never colored my hair...and my white hairs keep coming in! For now, they look like highlights in my black hair (at least I tell myself this! haha) But it would be fun to maybe try a deep dark red...not sure if it would look good on me though.

Blessings & Aloha1
Thank you very much for your visit!

Having two red-headed grandlittles, I did dye my hair red a few years back.

It looked pretty good but the color just would not hold. Apparently grey hair (which sadly I am about 85 percent) doesn't hold color as well!

But the girls loved it while it was in there!

Thanks for a fabulous link to the letter Y.

I thought that brown was the 'new' black. I guess it is red, though :) That said, all here are lovely, the red hair on all is nice (although Amy has the most natural red, to my eyes). As my hair grays, I have not been tempted to make changes - yet...

Sherrybasherry said...

I do believe red is the new black! You see it nowadays everywhere :)

Thank you for taking a peek at my RT entry, Lola!

I love the lovely spicy red color rather than the orange red color. I think red hair is pretty all around though. Makes a person unique. :) Thanks for stoppin' by Aprons and Old Lace. I, too, love roasted root vegetables. Take Care.

Redheads are beautiful!!! My daughter pulls off red highlights wonderfully but I too have too much gray. I just do dark brown---will not go all gray EVER. Such pretty red dresses too.

Nora, I always look forward to reading your posts - they're so entertaining!

My mom was a redhead. I'm a brunette with vague red highlights. Some can pull it off, some can't. A new book, yay! I still haven't gotten "round tuit" with the first book - soon, I hope; I love to read!

LOL Judie and Ames!
My mother is a true redhead. My daughter has reddish hair--a very awesome shade that has darkened as she has gotten older, Auburn you might call it. But she doesn't have the redhead complexion. She has green/hazel eyes and tans beautifully. People think she dyes her hair. Me, I have some red highlights, not that noticeable.
I remember being at summer camp and some friends and I were spraying peroxide on our hair. I was probably 12 or 13. I got in big trouble.
