Mimosa has been blooming here earlier than usual owing to unusually warm, dry weather! (Oops! Sorry if you're surrounded by snow, ice or floods!)

FAMOUS
*L*AST WORDS – OF BOOKS & MOVIES!
Everyone has personal favourites. As for books, maybe it’s: "The knife came down, missing him by inches, and he took off" - the famous last lines of Joseph Heller's Catch-22. Or: "So we beat on, boats against the current borne back ceaselessly into the past" of F Scott Fitzgerald's The Great Gatsby. Or: "Yes, she thought, laying down her brush in extreme fatigue, I have had my vision" of Virginia Woolf's To The Lighthouse.
And movies? How about: "Don't let's ask for the moon! We have the stars!" from Now, Voyager (1942) spoken by Bette Davis. Now, while it is true there have been movies that have not ended well, it is also true there have been movies that have not started well. However, I don’t believe this is the case with any of the following. Any here your favourites?

Now, while it is true there have been movies that have not ended well, it is also true there have been movies that have not started well. However, I don’t believe this is the case with any of the following. Any here your favourites?
1. Gone With the Wind (Victor Fleming, 1939)
“I’ll go home and I’ll think of some way to get him back. After all, tomorrow
is another day!” The optimistic reaction of the determined southern belle Scarlett O’Hara (Vivien Leigh, above) when a terminally exasperated Rhett Butler
(Clark Gable) gives up with: “Frankly, my dear, I don’t give a damn”.
2. Chinatown (Roman Polanski, 1974)
3. The Usual Suspects (Bryan Singer, 1995)
“The greatest trick the devil ever pulled was convincing the world he didn’t
exist. And like that – poof – he’s gone!” (Kevin Spacey about criminal
character)
4. Casablanca (Michael Curtiz, 1942)
“Louis, I think this is the beginning of a beautiful friendship.” Said by
nightclub owner Rick Blaine (Humphrey Bogart) to collaborationist police chief
Captain Louis Renault (Claude Rains)
5. Some Like It Hot (Billy Wilder, 1959)
“Well, nobody’s perfect!” (Much married millionaire Osgood Fielding III (Joe E
Brown, left) after “Daphne’s” (Jack Lemmon) confession “I’m a man!”
6. King Kong (Ernest Schoedsack, 1933)
“Oh no, it wasn’t the airplanes. It was beauty killed the beast.” The epitaph
on the giant ape Kong, shot dead by fighter planes after carrying Fay Wray to
the top of the Empire State Building.
7. Dr Strangelove (Stanley Kubrick, 1964)
“Mein Führer, I can walk!” Dr Strangelove (Peter Sellers), the German-born wheelchair-bound US presidential adviser’s shocking final line that suggests an ultimate triumph of the will
8. The Maltese Falcon (John
Huston, 1941)
“The stuff that dreams are made of.” PI Sam Spade (Humphrey Bogart) to San
Francisco cop (Ward Bond) who holds up the fake version of the priceless
Maltese Falcon and asks: “It’s heavy, what is it?”

I am one of those people covered in snow and your mimosas look so bright and lovely!
Your mimosas look much different than what we have here. Ours are pink - bright pink. ...And yes, we are tired of the snow...
Oh my goodness!! It is so good to see those beautiful flowers!! Sooooo ready to head south to warmth and sunshine and flowers and ocean!! xo Jeanne, Chloe and LadyBug
I am waiting to be transported to where the mimosas are blooming but no luck. Perhaps the machine needs batteries?

Love the shots of the mimosas...
makes me want to go somewhere warm close to the water...
As I'm surrounded by frigid temperatures, your lovely greens are just wonderful! I almost feel warm. Or maybe that's the wine.
The mimosas in bloom look so refreshing compared to snow & ice! The color is amazing and looks gorgeous cut for an arrangement.
My all time fav has got to be Gone With The Wind. I think I could recite most of the dialogue of the movie by now! I adore the movie and it's colorful show of life in the south. But I love the book even more. I didn't think it possible but the book has so much more history and information about the Civil War. We've used lines from it in our family for years such as "After all, tomorrow is another day." or "It ain't fittin', it ain't fittin, ain't fittin'!"
Fun post! Thanks for a glimpse of a possible spring here sooner or later.
Blessings, Edie Marie
Love these Famous Last Words! Here on the coast of Georgia, not much is blooming, but at least we don't have hard cold and snow.
"This seems wrong on so many levels." Do you know what movie this quote is from????
Cherry photos...love them. Great collection of last lines! My favorite last line is from the Bible...Rev 22:21 The grace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with you all. Amen. http://lauriekazmierczak.com/love-divine-all-loves-excelling%E2%99%AA/
The mimosas are gorgeous. Have a lovely weekend!
Lovely blossoms and delicate shadows!
Great shots of the mimosa - am interested to know where they are booming so early right niw?
Yes, Mimosa looks way too warm for us snowbirds in these northern climes...too bad for us and happy for you!
I love Casablanca, when the French citizens drown out the Nazi officers singing La Marseillaise with such fervor! The line I like is when Rick is to toast Renault and noticing the Vichy water bottle, dropping it into the trash instead of toasting with it. Which prompts Captain Renault to say of Rick: "Not only are you a sentimentalist - you have also become a patriot!"
I love that line!
The blue sky perfectly sets off the mimosa. Thanks for linking in today.
Happy Blue Monday, Lola.
Lovely close-up shot of the mimosa.
Beautiful mimosa photos Nora! Thanks for sharing the love up-close with I Heart Macro:-)
Beautiful photos and I really love the movie Gone with the Wind. For one reason my Grandma took me to see it and it will always be a fond memory for me :) Happy Monday!
its hot and bright where i am, much like your radiant Mimosa; have a nice Monday
much love...
I love your flowers, too!
Calling by from Our World Tuesday, the Mimosa is glorious
Just like Aussie Wattle trees.
Yup. I am one of those surrounded by snow and ice but it makes me feel warm seeing your photographs.
I love yellow flowers. We have lots of Scotch Broom that blooms in May. It is so pretty, but a very invasive plant. - Margy
Aah, so long ago I saw mimosas! When I lived in Holland they were imported from France (which means pricey!) Love the sight and the fragrance!
You've come up with a long list of famous last lines... I can't seem to think of any others!
Lovely post for the letter "L"!
Thanks for linking.
