Dear readers, back again and thank you everyone for all the comments to my last post - Your Lola Lifeline - and all your requests for advice which I’m already attending to and will pass to my PA for typing. But heaven knows when she’ll get around to it (you’d think it’d be easier to get good staff in a recession, wouldn’t you?). Oh, I could on at length about this so, take a break, dear readers, put on the kettle, talk among yourselves for a few minutes and I’ll be right back … It’s going to be a minute or two before I’m good to go again!Now, where was I? I find Gweneth's dress particularly odd. She is so beautiful and usually so stylish, but sometimes she really gets it wrong.

Pretty is as pretty does,that's and old sayin'..I don't know how some of them make thier decision.I know it must be difficult,and probable when they look back on it,they say."why did I choose that"....

I agree with you on these dresses, I thought the Emmys was rather boring. I don't want to spend any more for my ridiculously overpriced cable bill so I don't get HBO, so I hadn't a clue about a lot of the shows! xo

Just what I would wear as I head out to the garden with hoe in hand...must stop shopping at Land's End and LL Bean...my wardrobe needs sprucing up!
I loved all the jewel colored dress ladies wore this year.
All I can say is way way to much money goes out for those outfits that mostly are often not so pretty!
I missed it so not sure, darn. I always love to see the dresses. It never seems to amaze me. Some are so gorgeous, other-out there. Hopped over for a visit from Alpha Thurs. Fun post.
Loved Zooey Deschanel's. It's always the simple, classic ones that draw me in.
Some of them are just strange!....but it's hard to put anything on Gwenyth that would look bad.
I must agree with HH on Gwyneth! And Julianne Margulies...WHAT was she thinking? The top of her dress was soooooo weird!!! I didn't particularly like the Emmy's. I just wasn't that impressed. I do love Modern Family though...that show is hilarious!! xoxo Chloe and LadyBug, and the mama

Well #13 looks like she came straight from the swifter commercial. Is she dirt, mud, or residue??~
I thought that Gwyneth would have been better to go closer to the sari, if that's the effect she wanted, by replicating the pallu draped over the shoulder too. As it is, midriff displayed at a formal event is tacky.
Nothing can equal Padma's mud-wrestle look, just horrible.
I thought that Zooey Deschanel looked enchanting, and about 17 years old - in a good way.

You know what? If I looked like any of those women I'd pretty much wear anything. And be proud of it!
I always have to laugh that their 'stylists' even let them attend wearing some of those things!

I actually like Gwyneth Paltrow's dress, especially since she can pull it off with her body :) But then again, it is a bit weird for an award show!
