HER MADGESTY ...

Dear readers, *S* is for *S*uperbowl 2012 and Madonna (above)!
PLEASE NOTE!
Before I go any further, however, please note I may not, pro tem, be able to post any more since Blogger is giving me no end of trouble. As you may be aware, Blogger has given notice it is changing – already the interface with my computer’s software is highly problematic. I’m managing to post just this one time on another computer but won’t be able to repeat this. So, unless Blogger rectifies its own software problems, this may be the last time for a while. Watch this space! Are you having problems too? :(

Now where was I? Oh yes, Madonna! She's been at the forefront of fashion and music for 30 years, and now in her fifties, still knows a thing or two about how to write a cracking club tune and spark a fashion furore. With the saucy video for her latest single 'Girl Gone Wild' released recently, there’s much talk of the hunks in tights (yes! Tights or ‘mantyhose’ as it’s called) who star alongside the Material Girl(below). Here are some more images:

On Michael Parkinson’s chat show Playing Wembley Arena, London ANY VIEWS ABOUT HER MADGESTY? CAN SHE STILL CUT IT?
Do tell me (and any Blogger problems you’re having!). And do check out other Alphabe-Thursday posts @
Jenny Matlock!
And, finally, thank you to all my dear readers who have visited or commented. Have a good weekend!
Enjoy!
XOXO LOLA:)

1. Bjork, Oscars 2001 ( in Marjan Pejoski, above) - words fail me!

WHO SAID OWNERS RESEMBLE THEIR PETS?

This week, ‘Q’ IS FOR *Q*UEST FOR TOP DOG! During last week’s annual, four-day UK Crufts competition, nearly 22,000 dogs and their owners competed for a variety of awards, but it was a Lhasa Apso called Elizabeth (below) who took the coveted title of Best In Show. Who said owners resemble their pets? Here are some more images:

DO YOU KNOW OWNERS WHO RESEMBLE THEIR PETS?

PONIES ...

Dear readers, this week *P* IS FOR *P*ONIES!
A man who attempted to take a pony on a train last year at Wrexham station in north Wales (above) also tried to get treatment for the animal in A & E (ER) at a nearby hospital! Yes, really!
It’s also just been reported that Dartmoor ponies in Devon are to go on the pill! World Horse Welfare vets have been given the go-ahead to use contraceptive injection on the semi-feral mares (below) after a Devon pony population explosion. Yes really!
Dartmoor takes its name from the river Dart and was designated one of the National Parks of England and Wales in 1951. It's a beautiful moorland landscape with wooded valleys and windswept Tors. 368 square miles in area, it's rich in habitat for wildlife and has a wealth of archaeological remains like the famous Hay-Tor (bottom). OSCARS ...

Dear readers, this week, natch, *O* IS FOR *O*SCARS!
The Artist became the first silent film to win the top prize at last weekend’s Oscars, taking the award for Best Film and Best Actor. Meryl Streep (below) won Best Actress for The Iron Lady. Same awards as for the British BAFTAs two weeks ago!
Here are some of the most striking frocks on display:
1. Emma Stone (Giambattista Valli, above)
2. Meryl Streep (Lanvin) 3. Natalie Portman ( Dior)

4.Gwyneth Paltrow (Tom Ford)

5. Glenn Close ( Zac Posen)

6. Viola Davis (Vera Wang)

7. Jennifer Lopez ( Zuhair Murad)

8. Penelope Cruz (Armaini Privé)
9. Angelina Jolie (Versace and THAT leg!)
10. Michelle Williams (L Vuitton) And now a gown that, unfortunately, resembles landlady gold lamé rather than a golden screen star. Dressing like an awards statue is no guarantee you’ll actually win one:
11. Stacy Keibler (Marchesa)
12. Kristen Wiig (J Mendel) – a feather duster?
13. Sandra Bullock (Marchesa) – walking on her knees?
WHICH WERE THE EVENT'S HITS & MISSES…? AND, ER, THE MOVIES TOO!
