BOND, JAMES BOND ...

Dear readers, I am participating in Alphabe-Thursday where ‘B’ IS FOR *B*OND: JAMES BOND - AND THOSE BOND GIRLS …
The latest Bond movie, Skyfall, together with its latest Bond girls, makes me wonder yet again if it isn’t time (it's the 21st century, after all!) to retire these ladies from the franchise? What’s your view? Do you like them and believe they are as intrinsic/integral to the format as Bond himself? In other words, if they were to go, Bond would soon follow?

Here are a few reminders of Bond girls (past & present):
1. Bérénice Marlohe & Naomie Harris (with Daniel Craig, above) - Skyfall:
2. Honey Ryder (Ursula Andress) – Dr No:
3. Pussy Galore (Honor Blackman) – Goldfinger:
4. Tiffany Case (Jill St John) – Diamonds Are Forever:
5. Xenia Onatopp (Famke Janssen) – Goldeneye:
6. Strawberry Fields (Gemma Arteton) – Quantum of Solace:

WHAT’S YOUR TAKE? DO YOU LIKE / DISLIKE BOND MOVIES? (AND THOSE BOND GIRLS?)

MOVIE ADAPTATIONS OF NOVELS ...

Dear readers, this week ‘A’ could only be *ADAPTATIONS* - MOVIE *A*DAPTATIONS OF NOVELS! Do you think adaptations of novels successfully translate to the screen? I read that Mario Puzo, author of The Godfather (above & below), considered the screen version better than his original! “I wished like hell I’d written it better” he commented after back stories and subplots were cut and the ending made darker.

Here are some examples of other famous adaptations. Do you think they’re an improvement – or not?
Peter Benchley’s Jaws:
Scott Fitzgerald’s The Great Gatsby (another version due next year):
Dickens: Bleak House:
And Great Expectations (new version):

L. Frank Baum’s The Wizard of Oz:

Margaret Mitchell’s Gone with the Wind:

ZZZZZZZ ...

Dear readers, this week ‘Z’ could only be *ZZZZZZZZZ*!

You know how sometimes you long to fall asleep (like my chum above) but counting all those sheep simply isn’t working! Perhaps the answer is some exercise to help you relax before bedtime. But don’t panic and hide!
I don’t mean a half marathon around the block but rather a little light, gentle stretching!
Remember our earlier Yoga Bear instructions? How they went something like this:
Exercise 1: Both feet up like so ...
Well done! Wasn’t too hard was it? Let’s try some more in Exercise 2:
Now Exercise 3: Left leg stretch. Ooh! Did you pull something too?
Next Exercise 4: Right leg stretch. Ooh! Aah!
And now Exercise 5: Right groin stretch. More ooh! Aah!
Next Exercise 6: Right leg stretch a bit more. Getting the hang of it now? Getting in your, er, stride?
Finally, Exercise 7: And relax! You deserve it!
Repeat as often as necessary until you get more and more drowsy (like the bears below)
and (like me) just want to *ZZZZZZZZZ* ...

TAILS OF STARDOM ...

Dear readers, this week ‘Y’ IS *Y*OUR POOCH – DOES S/HE HAVE A POTENTIAL TAIL OF STARDOM?
- Or how dogs are making it big in film ...

We've had Uggie, Lassie and Rin Tin Tin (above), now the search is on to find the new Benji (below). Got a cute pooch? You could be barking all the way to the bank!
AND NO, I’M NOT AVAILABLE FOR FILMING! BUT THANKS, ANYWAY, FOR ASKING!

Do check out other posts - Alphabe-Thursday  @ Jenny Matlock, Ruby Tuesday & Rednesday!
And, finally, thank you to all my dear readers who have visited or commented. And to new followers too.
Have a great weekend!

Enjoy and see you next time,
